Freight Forwarding Specialist with Ukrainian
Our client is a well-established transportation company with more than 20 years of experience in the transport industry on the Czech market. The company operates its own fleet, service facilities and a stable customer base.
As part of its continued growth, the company is launching a new freight forwarding division focused on subcontracted transport services. This creates a unique opportunity for an experienced logistics professional who would like to be involved not only in day-to-day freight forwarding operations but also in shaping and developing a new business area from the very beginning.
The successful candidate will play a key role in building relationships with customers and carriers, developing operational processes, identifying new business opportunities and contributing directly to the growth and profitability of the division. This position offers a high level of autonomy, real influence on decision-making and the opportunity to turn ideas into practice within an entrepreneurial environment.
What to expect as a Freight Forwarding Specialist?
- Search for loads on transport exchanges such as TIMOCOM, Trans.eu, Cargo.LT and other platforms
- Find, select and check subcontracted carriers for transport operations across Europe
- Negotiate with clients and carriers on rates, loading and unloading conditions and payment terms
- Calculate margins and assess the profitability of each order before confirming transport
- Organize transport from order receipt through to successful unloading
- Monitor vehicle movement and communicate with the carrier and client during the trip
- Resolve operational issues, including delays, route changes, loading/unloading problems and documentation matters
- Work with transport documents, including order confirmations, CMRs, PODs, invoices and other supporting documents
- Create and develop a database of clients, carriers and partners
- Gradually help build the working process for this new activity inside Jarotrans
What's expected
- Experience in logistics as a freight forwarder, dispatcher/disponent, forwarding agent, or a similar role
- Practical experience with subcontracted transport and transport exchanges
- Understanding of the European road freight transport market
- Ability to negotiate rates, agree terms and protect the company’s interests
- Ability to independently search for clients, loads and carriers
- Responsibility, stress resistance and the ability to solve operational problems quickly
- English language skills for communication with European clients and carriers
- Ukrainian and/or Russian language skills are required
- Office-based work for at least 70% of working time
Nice to have:
- An existing client or carrier base
- Experience launching or developing a new activity within a logistics company
- Experience with FTL/LTL transport across Europe
- Knowledge of Czech, Polish, German or another European language
- Experience working with TMS systems and CRM tools
- Understanding of post-transport document flow: CMR, POD, invoices and delivery confirmations
