Ocean Freight Forwarding Specialist
We are looking to welcome an Ocean Freight Operations Specialist to our operations team, with minimum 2 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating ocean freight shipments, ensuring an efficient, high-quality service and maintaining smooth communication with customers, suppliers and international agents. The role will also involve shipment invoicing, cost forecasting and cost control, helping to ensure the profitability of each shipment file.
We are looking for an organised, proactive and solution-oriented professional with strong communication skills who enjoys working in a dynamic, international environment.

What to expect as an Ocean Freight Forwarding Specialist?
- Manage and coordinate ocean freight shipments (exports and imports)
- Track shipments from booking through to vessel departure and completion of the operational process
- Coordinate shipments with shipping lines, international agents, suppliers and customers
- Handle bookings, transport documentation and shipping instructions
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure deadlines and operational requirements are met
- Resolve operational issues and follow up as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction
- Verify documentation related to ocean freight shipments
- Manage shipment invoicing, review supplier invoices, and carry out cost forecasting and cost control, ensuring accurate cost allocation and shipment profitability
What's expected
- Experience: minimum 2 years of experience in ocean freight operations within a freight forwarding company
- Ocean Freight Experience: Previous experience managing ocean freight export and import shipments is highly desirable
- Spanish: Native-level proficiency, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- English: Advanced proficiency, with the ability to communicate confidently in calls, meetings and professional correspondence with international customers, suppliers and agents
- Catalan: Considered an advantage
- Knowledge of ocean freight documentation and operational processes
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Proactive, solution-oriented and customer-focused, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
