Sea Freight Operations Specialist
We are looking for a Seafreight Operations Specialist to join an international logistics team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination and administration of sea freight
shipments from booking through to final delivery, while maintaining close communication
with customers, carriers, overseas partners, customs brokers, and internal teams.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in developing a career in
international freight forwarding. Previous experience in sea freight is an advantage, but we
are also open to motivated candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
What to expect as a Sea Freight Operations Specialist?
- Organize and coordinate sea freight shipments, including import and export
shipments - Communicate with shipping lines, carriers, overseas agents, customs brokers, and
customers - Prepare, review, and process transport and customs documentation
- Monitor shipment status and ensure timely delivery of information and updates to
customers - Prepare quotations and calculate freight and related transportation costs
- Coordinate bookings and follow up on shipment milestones
- Identify and resolve operational issues in a timely and customer-focused manner
- Handle customer complaints, claims, and operational discrepancies
- Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation
- Cooperate with international offices and colleagues
- Ensure all shipments are handled accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with
company procedures
What's expected
- Interest in sea freight forwarding and international logistics
- Previous experience in sea freight forwarding is an advantage, but not required
- Good command of English, additional foreign languages are an advantage
- Good computer skills, particularly MS Office
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work independently as well as part of an international team
